I’ve been reading all the best-selling beauty magazines to find out what’s hot for 2017 and every picture tells the same story, photos speak volumes and music to my ears. As someone who has always been hot on skin care and trying to preserve my skin against the signs of ageing, I’m really pleased to say that the new year is all about healthy glowing skin, au naturel. Yep you heard me, it’s daring to go bare! Throw out your foundation because this coming year it’s all about showing off your bare skin.
Top models are leading the way with minimal skin coverage, concealing only where one needs to conceal and opting instead for good skin moisturises, marvellous skin balms and primers, some with hints of gold particles to make your skin glow. The eyes are left minimal with lashings of mascara and a little shadow (if any at all) perhaps a small amount of sparkle for your evening date. This coming year it’s all about good natural skin, colour correcting and a small splash of colour. Good news for lipstick lovers, that bold lip isn’t going anywhere fast.
There are so many moisturises and skin brightening creams and lotions on the market to choose from and you can easily find a good one to suit your budget. Bobbi Brown and NARS have the perfect skin primers, Chanel has a beautiful brightening moisture lotion, Le Blanc. One of my all-time favourites has to be the Elemis pro-radiance illuminating flash balm. At £37 it’s a steal and leaves your skin fresh and glowing. No need for extra highlighting much like Bobbi Browns Extra Illuminating skin moisturiser. This cream is so creamy and smells amazing and ok it’s a little more expensive, but you only need a tiny amount, as a little goes a very long way. I’ve recently been trying Liz Earle’s skin care range and I have to say it has exceeded my expectations. I wasn’t expecting it to be as rich and moisturising, but honestly it’s doing wonders for my skin. The big plus point, it’s full of organic ingredients and some amazing essential oils. My favourite is the non-perfumed super skin moisturiser, specially formulated with powerful naturally active ingredients. Another favourite of mine is the super skin eye cream, it’s so rich and creamy and just perfect for delicate skin under the eyes.
Next week I’ll be reviewing some more products so stay tuned and have the best New Year’s celebrations. Oh and don’t forget, cleanse tone and moisturise.
